Event Information:

Where multiple fire protection and life safety systems are integrated with one another, the commissioning must be performed to ensure the proper operation and inter-relationship between the systems. Testing must be performed as a whole in accordance with CAN/ULC- S1001, “Integrated Systems Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems”. The primary purpose of the standard is to ensure that each of the different systems are interconnected with one another as designed. Since January 2020, the S1001 standard is a requirement of the Ontario Building Code for all new construction where fire protection or life safety systems have been installed. System modifications to existing buildings also require integration testing per S1001.

This dynamic seminar will describe the background to the S1001 development, the scope of the standard with relevant Building and Fire Code highlights, and testing requirements with field applications and examples.
