Event Information:
Building commissioning is evolving from a construction industry best practice to a common standard. Originating in the 1980s as a quality control process, building commissioning has since been developed by many organizations and formalized by ASHRAE and CSA.
Commissioning is now an important aspect in the building industry, for both new construction and existing buildings. Sustainability programs like LEED, WELL, and other systems require building systems to be commissioned.
The scope of work started in HVAC traditionally, but the commissioning process is equally applicable and gaining traction with electrical, life safety, security, building envelope, energy measurement and monitoring, etc. The speaker will go through the various phases of the commissioning process, and how they apply to new construction and to existing buildings.
